Hansgrohe
Industry

Hansgrohe is a German manufacturer of sanitary products such as faucets, showers, thermostats, drains and bathroom accessories. The company attaches great importance to smooth IT and systematic hardware output.

Initial Situation

The times of home office and hybrid working at multiple locations have greatly changed the demands on IT support, and at the same time the need for supporting technologies and services has increased. Now it's time for companies: Off to the digital workplace of the future! This was also the situation at Hansgrohe, a company based in the Black Forest. As a manufacturer of sanitary products such as faucets, showers, thermostats, drains and bathroom accessories, Hansgrohe is one of the few global companies in the sanitary industry, with 34 companies and 20 sales offices in 54 locations worldwide.

Consequently, Hansgrohe was looking for a solution that would reduce the burden on IT support while increasing internal efficiency. To do this, Hansgrohe defined three main milestones they wanted to achieve in IT support:

Introduce plug-and-play technology, enable expansion in terms of 24/7 availability, and realize efficiency gains through automation.

This is where Streit comes in. Hansgrohe is a long-standing customer of the family-owned company «Streit Service & Solution», probably the most successful office service provider in southern Germany. So, together with Streit, Hansgrohe developed the vision of implementing an IT automat.

Especially in a company with more than 5,000 employees, IT support in particular plays a central role. At Hansgrohe, the issue of hardware and peripherals to IT end users traditionally ran via purchase requisitions, approval workflows, and usually the personal issue of the requested equipment. This process was cumbersome and inefficient.“

Implementation

For Hansgrohe, human resources are the number one success factor. Accordingly, the company was keen to familiarize its employees with innovative technologies that would make their day-to-day work easier. Derived from the overriding support strategy, Hansgrohe decided to tackle the introduction of CORA, the IT automat, together with Streit and pidas.

After joint initial workshops and development of the solution design, the delivery and installation of the IT automat at the Schiltach site in the Black Forest followed as part of the proof of concept phase. After commissioning and training, an internal marketing campaign was launched to quickly establish the new IT touchpoint. Each employee was allowed to take a goodie from the CORA and thus had a first touchpoint that was very well received and directly broke the ice between the employees and the IT automat.

Our Solutions in Use

IT Automat CORA

Use the opportunities of digitization and automation for your IT field support as well. With CORA, you can increase the user experience and save costs at the same time. The intelligent IT automation is available to your users 24/7 and relieves the IT field support. But above all, it makes it much faster and far more modern.

Achievements

CORA has optimized quite a few things in IT support at Hansgrohe. The expert for sanitary products now enjoys modern, user-friendly technology that allows end users to independently remove various hardware components such as laptops, mice or keyboards. In addition, employees experience a positive user experience and gain time in their work. CORA is filled by the partner Streit. The companies have complete control over who has taken which item from CORA and also receive information on the number of items in stock.

The 24/7 support that CORA provides is very much appreciated by the employees and the IT support staff. This not only positions Hansgrohe as an innovative employer, but also saves valuable time and resources. The implementation of CORA has paid off.

After all, the IT automat showed pleasing results early on. For example, a full 584 withdrawals and returns of hardware items were made in the period from the end of April to mid-July 2021.

This trend was confirmed, as more than 1,700 removals were registered in the first 12 months - that makes an average of 35 removals and returns per week. Wireless radio mice proved to be the most frequently replaced devices, followed by USB hubs and headsets. The proven system and the successes achieved have even led Hansgrohe to consider placing more CORAs in their premises in the future to further promote digital workplace support. We look forward to further cooperation with Hansgrohe and our newly acquired partner Streit.
